What is the Talon session?

For those not in the know, “Talon” is the name of our eagle mascot on the GEO logo.  Over the years “Talon” became our comp name – as in “Talon Comp Team” and it also referred to Team training or Team WODs.

So when I refer to the Tuesday night Talon session, I am referring specifically to the scheduled 7.15pm session on Tuesday nights where we do a team workout/s which is different from the WOD that was programmed throughout the day.  These sessions are very fluid and I, or the Coach on hand, will generally just put together a team workout based on the people who show up.  It’s a bit of a lucky dip for you but you know it will be fun.  Last week we did Snatches and Clean and Jerks and a few people actually hit PR’s. The week before we did some Ninja Warrior stuff.

If there are ever comps coming up then we tend to do workouts to prep those who are competing, but these sessions are open to ANYONE who wants to come along and jump in.  No level of fitness or skill is required.  The only requirement is that you are willing to have a crack and have some fun.

I am feeling a little prepared though today and am it putting out there now that tonight we will be doing a team Oly Lifting workout, so if you want to do a double sesh, or you just want to come in at 7.15pm, feel free to join us.




12 min EMOM (every 2 mins)

0-2-4 min mark – 4 Clean and Jerks @ 60%

6-8 min mark – 3 Clean and Jerks @ 80%

10 min mark – 2 Clean and Jerks @ 90%

30 Kettlebell Swings 24/16kg

30 Double Unders

30 Wallballs
