GEO-TREK to Blue Gum Forest, Blue Mountains.

On Saturday 29 October we’ll be embarking on a 2-day trek to Blue Gum Forest, considered the spiritual home of bushwalking in NSW.  This is open to anyone who wants to come, including family and friends who are not members of GEO.

This is considered one of the most beautiful walks in Australia.  The views are spectacular and we will be walking through numerous natural landscapes along the way.  There is quite a lot of descending and ascending so a moderate level of fitness is required, but you will all be more than capable.

The plan is to meet at Blackheath (about 1.45 hrs from Sydney) on Saturday morning and grab a cuppa and something to eat.  Then we’ll drive down the road to Govetts Leap lookout and begin the trek.  The trek is about 20kms all up.  We’ll cover about 9k’s on the first day, camp at Acacia Flat, and then walk the remaining 11 k’s on the second day.

You will need a backpack, tent, and sleeping bag as essentials. You will also have to carry your own food and water.

I will supply more comprehensive details on what is required as we get closer, but if you have any questions, please message me.
