Having the right mindset is important

Hey guys, below is a youtube video/podcast produced by the team at Brute Strength.  I have been listening to a lot of podcasts lately on the subject of training, coaching, motivation and other related topics.  Brute Strength and Barbell Shrugged are two of them I have found to be quite insightful and helpful with what I do as a coach and an athlete.

This one is a good one about creating a positive mental mindset.  I encourage you to have a listen to it.  It will translate not only to what you do at GEO but also to what you do outside of the Box in your everyday life.  We obviously spend a lot of time focussing on the physical aspect of CrossFit, but we also know that CrossFit is very much a mental game. You know what I mean – those times when you are mid-way through a WOD and that little voice in your head is telling you to put the bar down and rest; or when you wake up in the morning and look at the WOD and decide it’s too hard so you roll over and go back to sleep.  We all have goals but without the right mindset we may never reach them or we may take a hell of a longer to attain them than what we should.

Plug the earphones in and listen to Justin Sua talk about how champions are created, how people succeed, and how you need to be thinking to get what you want.  Listen to it while you are driving, or doing your housework, or sitting at your desk in your day job.  I hope you take something away from it.
